The 12th Smart Cities International Conference (SCIC XII), themed “Resilient Communities Empowered by Collective Intelligence”, was scheduled for December 4-6, 2024, in Bucharest, Romania. Organised by the National University of Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), the Faculty of Public Administration, and the Smart-EDU Hub, the conference invited participation from academics, policymakers, early-stage researchers, and students in social sciences and related fields.

SCIC XII aims to foster open, inclusive, and multidisciplinary discussions on Smart Cities, examining urban life through the lenses of democratic governance and societal adherence to state regulations. The conference seeked to enhance awareness of the Smart Cities concept, build stakeholder capacity, promote dialogue and cooperation, and connect Smart Cities initiatives at national, European, and international levels.
