From March 5-7, 2024, the FOR-FREIGHT consortium gathered in Athens for a dynamic two-day technical meeting followed by a fascinating visit to the airport facilities for the Greek Use Case. Hosted by our Technical Manager, WINGS, alongside other brilliant technical partners, the meeting buzzed with insightful discussions and workshops, focusing on project progress, field trial setups, and the integration of functional requirements with solver outputs and impacts.

We delved into topics like TIC4.0 language adaptation, Workflow Engine and Dashboard specifications, platform architecture, commercialization, innovation, and dissemination strategies. It was an incredible opportunity to collaborate and brainstorm towards our shared goals!

On the final day, our team embarked on an inspiring tour of the airport facilities, immersing ourselves in the Greek Use Case “Port-to-Airport multimodal freight transport: End-to-end optimization with DSS and real-time monitoring & control capabilities”, involving the project partners Cosco GR Piraeus, Goldair Handling, Athens International Airport, and of course, WINGS. 

A heartfelt thank you to the PLOTO project for joining us and sharing insights into their incredible work. We’re thrilled to explore future opportunities for collaboration and are already buzzing with ideas for joint activities!
