Between the 26^th and the 28^th of September 2023, the FOR-FREIGHT consortium gathered together after six months, for their Advisory Board (AB) and General Assembly (GA) meetings. Both meetings were hosted by our project partner imec, in Antwerp, Belgium.

The AB meeting took place on the first day. The project partners welcomed for the first time, transport and logistics experts from various countries, who will be supporting the project until its closure and offer their knowledge and expertise for the successful implementation. The AB members became informed about the project’s scope, objectives, upcoming milestones, as well as the expected outcomes and products to be produced in the project. Each Use Case (UC) was presented by the FOR-FREIGHT coordinator, technical manager, and respective UC leaders, who later on provided the project’s platform architecture. In addition, once standardisation and interoperability issues were presented, as well as applicability of the FOR-FREIGHT solution and other relevant requirements were discussed, the AB provided their comments and recommendations, and general viewpoints.

On the second and third day of the meeting, the GA meeting took place. The meeting was dedicated to the technical aspects of the project, emphasising the technological developments and advancements of each of the project’s Work Packages (WP). Having said that, internal workshops focused the discussions on the system architecture and specifications, the multimodal transport solutions of the project and the platform’s early (testing) drop, as well as the socio-economic and environmental impact created in the project.

The FOR-FREIGHT consortium elaborated on various challenges in the project, discussed potential solutions, and created the roadmap for the next activities to take place in the project, in the upcoming months.
